Birth Prep Practices

Learn how to align your body in late pregnancy to support an optimal labor + birth position for your baby to encourage an easier, quicker, less complicated birth experience.

The Approach

Unlike the conventional 9+ hour childbirth education classes that have become the norm, Brandy’s Birth Prep Practices Class focuses on what you need to do BEFORE labor + birth to support an easier, smoother childbirth experience. She uses her extensive knowledge of optimal fetal positioning for labor + birth to show you how need to sit, drive, move, stretch, & rest in the third trimester of pregnancy to encourage an optimal birth position for your baby which supports an easier, shorter labor with fewer interventions.

What you’ll learn:

» Optimal fetal positioning - Explore the ideal position for a baby going into labor, how to determine the position of your baby before the 36 week ultrasound (which may be too late!), and what to do if your baby is in a suboptimal position

» Why sitting in your computer chair all day is pushing baby into a suboptimal position & what to do instead

» Why long car rides and lots of car time are notorious for causing breech and other suboptimal positioning of baby

» How you should be resting and relaxing at home (spoiler alert: it’s NOT in a recliner or lying back on the couch)

» When NOT to sit on a birth ball in late pregnant (it’s not ideal for every baby depending on their position!)

» The 3 Balances of the Spinning Babies philosophy to support optimal fetal positioning, when to start practicing them, & how often to do them

» Simple yoga postures & flows for supporting optimal position of baby, including when to start birth prep yoga & how often to practice

» Practices, providers, and other resources for encouraging a baby to flip or rotate (think: specially-trained chiropractors, acupuncturists, and more)

Why take a Birth Prep Practices Class?

As a birth doula and mama of 2, I have experienced first-hand that the ease of your labor and childbirth experience is determined by how well you prepared your body and positioned your baby for labor + birth - not by how well you studied the stages of labor & interventions, whether you got all the right baby gear, made a perfectly detailed birth plan, or made the best birth playlist.

In the modern approach to pregnancy and birth there is so much focus on testing, screening, interventions, and how to be prepared for what could go wrong. There is also a huge focus on taking in as much labor and birth education as possible - everything from pelvic anatomy to labor stages & progression. However, as a birth doula and mama, I have seen that what truly makes the biggest difference in easing labor and allowing women in labor to feel more empowered is having prepared their bodies + their babies for the labor and birth experience… not whether or not they know what stage of labor they are in or where the ischial tuberosities are.

My Birth Prep Practices Class is designed to give you back control over your labor + childbirth experience by giving you the tools to adequately prepare your body & baby for the birth you desire.
