Drop-in, weekly yoga flow classes for all-levels. In my vinyasa-style yoga classes we focus on breath-linked movement, sun salutations, strength-building flows, soothing + stretchy postures, and deep relaxation. BUT, this isn’t your average yoga class. We use a mix of fun + funky + soothing music (no nature sounds here!), storytelling, and playfulness to create a relaxed, welcoming, FUN, & easyyyyy vibe that can be hard to find at traditional (read: stuffy) yoga studios! Beginners welcome. Check out our full class schedule here.

My prenatal yoga classes are yoga flow style classes that focus on breath-linked movement with a blend of strength-building sequences and soothing, stretchy postures to increase both strength + flexibility as you move through your pregnancy. We explore modifications for growing bellies and common pregnancy ailments like round ligament pain, pubis symphysis pain, diastasis recti, heartburn, & more. There is also a strong focus on yoga-specific movements + stretches for birth prep to help support an easier labor and childbirth experience. Check out our full class schedule here.

All of my prenatal yoga classes are safe + appropriate for postpartum folks who have been cleared for movement and exercise by their care providers. We will focus on rebuilding strength while being mindful of the tender state of healing that is taking place in our bodies. In my prenatal yoga classes, we also focus on issues that are common in postpartum like diastasis recti and pelvic floor dysfunction. Check out our full class schedule here.

My labor and birth prep classes are designed to be an alternative to the longgg, multi-day childbirth education classes that have become the norm. Seriously, who is remembering all 9 hours of their multi-day childbirth education class? I, for one, did not. As an experienced birth doula and mama of two, I wanted to create labor + childbirth prep classes that didn’t teach overwhelming amounts of information and focused primarily on what is, in my professional opinion, the most important birth prep education - how to have an easier, shorter, less complicated, more empowering labor + childbirth experience. Check out my two signature Labor + Birth Prep Classes below.

Two of the BEST decisions my husband and I made when it came to parenting were using cloth diapers and practicing Elimination Communication (EC) aka infant pottying. Don’t roll your eyes just yet!
Cloth diapering (about 90% of the time) saved us thousands of dollars with our first kiddo AND when kiddo #2 came along we spent ZERO dollars on diapers (except for a small stash of disposables for travel and overnights). What’s even better is that we kept thousands of diapers out of our local landfill as well!
But, the big game changer was practicing elimination communication - aka pottying our babies - from the first 1-3 weeks of life. Yes, you can potty your baby from as young as birth. Indigenous cultures all around the world do it to this day. Our oldest stopped pooping in his diaper by 7-9 months old, was completely out out daytime diapers by age 2, and was entirely diaper-free (bedtime, long car rides, etc) by age 2 1/2! Yeah, it’s as good as it sounds.

Our Approach
Community Movement
We foster a deep sense of community in all of our community yoga classes, prenatal yoga classes, and postpartum yoga classes by offering a playful, welcoming environment to laugh, share, & connect while moving, breathing, & stretching together.
A Supported Pregnancy
Your body was made for this journey. It has everything it already needs, and yet it can still be wildly uncomfortable & clunky at times. We aim to help you remain both strong + soft throughout your pregnancy for greater ease, maximum comfort, and gentle relief of nagging pregnancy ailments.
An Empowered Labor + Birth
While we cannot know what our labor + birth experience will be, we all deserve to feel empowered, strong, & confident in our birthing moments. Our goal is to make sure you know how to set yourself up for an easier, shorter, more empowering birth experience without all the information overload, overwhelm, or tedious multi-day classes.
Parenting with Intention
Parenting is unfathomably hard, the first year especially, and yet we owe it to our children to parent with intention, honor their instincts even as babies, and promote a safe, clean planet Earth for their futures. That’s why we teach holistic, Earth-friendly, low-impact parenting classes that reignite the ancient, primal parenting practices with a modern twist.

Here at Matriarch Yoga + Prenatal Wellness, we aspire to go above & beyond conventional prenatal/postpartum yoga classes and childbirth education classes in several ways.
Unlike other prenatal & postpartum yoga classes + studios, ALL of our teachers are certified prenatal yoga instructors and specially trained to teach yoga to pregnant and postpartum people.
Our yoga classes are not just designed to provide movement & stretching like many prenatal & postpartum yoga classes, but go beyond to incorporate specific birth prep movements, postures to ease common pregnancy discomforts, pelvic floor toning & release, and visualizations & meditations to support a positive birth experience.
Our birth education classes are very different from conventional childbirth education classes in a few KEY ways: they are designed to be short (not 9+ hours or multiple days long), free of information overload, accessible & not overwhelming, AND - most importantly - focus only on the what are the most impactful ways to have a shorter, easier, more empowering labor + birth experience.

As a mama of 2 who worked with midwives for both births, had a homebirth AND a hospital birth with nurse-midwives, and had her husband present for the entirety of both births I can personally share that my own birth doula was the most supportive & impactful person on my birth team.
A birth doula is the only 24/7 continuous support person at your birth. She is the only person whose shift doesn’t end until you’ve given birth if you’re birthing at a hospital (even with nurse-midwives). At a homebirth your doula arrives before your midwife and never leaves your side - whereas many homebirth midwives don’t arrive until things have really escalated, may leave to check on other clients, and often sneak out to take a nap or do paperwork. Your birth doula is your constant, unwavering support person.
And, while you’re partner is surely wonderful, they often are overwhelmed by the intensity birth experience and find themselves feeling lost and unsure of how to help. This is where a birth doula can support THEM in being what you need as well.
The research shows that in all types of births, in all birth locations, the support of a birth doula has been shown to support short labor lengths, decreased rate of cesareans, decreased use of interventions, and greater overall birth experiences for birthing people.
The choice is you. However, I, myself, would never birth without a birth doula.
